About me

Hello, I'm Maki — a documentary filmmaker and photographer based in Tokyo. For many years, I’ve worked on TV programs that explore real stories and people’s everyday lives. My work has taken me across Japan and Asia, but I’ve always been drawn to the warmth and quiet charm of Tokyo’s shitamachi—the city’s old, local neighborhoods. I started hosting this stay to share that same feeling of comfort and authenticity with travelers and digital nomads who come to Tokyo. Here, you can experience a calm, residential area surrounded by nature, while still being only minutes away from the city center. As a visual storyteller, I pay attention to the details of design and atmosphere — so I’ve prepared a space where you can relax, focus on your work, and feel inspired. Whether you’re here for a creative retreat, remote work, or simply to discover another side of Tokyo, I hope my place becomes a small but memorable part of your story.
