House for rent - Gafanha da Encarnação

Renting entire house 15 minute drive from centre of Ericeira.

Immersed in nature with a beautiful view of the valley to Sao Lourenço beach.

Very quiet area with no neighbours, comprising of a 20 minute walk through nature to the closest beach (Sao Lourenço).

Necessary to have a car for access to shops and beaches.

World surfing reserve is at the footstep of the house with easy accessibility to all the famous waves of the Ericeira region.

1 hours drive to Lisbon, 40 minutes drive to Sintra and 1 hours drive to Peniche.

It’s a great location for access to some of the best areas Portugal has to offer, whilst being in a really quiet area outside of any major towns.

Arriving at the accommodation you will find a parking right infront of the house giving really easy access for unloading shopping and suitcases.

There is an outside dinning area for warm evenings and sunny mornings.

The house boasts a stunning view looking straight down the valley looking towards the east, meaning for early rises you see the sunrise over the top of the hill.

As you enter through the main entrance you walk into a typical Portuguese kitchen with enough space for cooking together and all the cooking equipment needed to make your favourite meals.

There is a small bathroom with a shower that has great pressure and an easy to use temperature adjustment.

A lounge with a comfortable couch and space to stretch in the morning.

The bedroom is very comfortable and has a new bed and a great view towards the morning sunset.

All windows have black out blinds.
The temperature of the house remains very cool which makes it a great place to retreat when the sun is too strong.

The house is old but has recently been repainted and renovated.
Maintenance and upkeep is done on a regular basis, as with old houses near the ocean, there is always a need for this type of work.

There is a study room that will be closed and used as a storage room for my homily belongings to create more space and comfort during your stay.

This is my home and I put care and love into the building, you will find touches of my personality throughout the building and it has a quirky nature.

It is a fully functioning house that will make a great stay for you to get to know the surrounding areas. It’s very comfortable for a couple and the access to the surf spots is the reason I choose to live here.

Hi there my name is Kai.
I’m originally born in the UK on a small island called Jersey and I’ve called Portugal home for over 10 years.

I originally arrived in Portugal on a surf trip and after my car broke down I never left.
Haha of course I have been back and forth to the UK and also travelled in Asia and Europe.

I’m often working abroad so I like to rent out my house during those periods. And also when I’m travelling.

I love this area of Portugal and Ericeira has been where I spend most of my time when I’m in Portugal. Although I have lived all over the country from the Algarve all the way up to Porto.

I spent almost 5 years in Lisbon and know the city very well. I still love to travel in Portugal and know many beautiful places here, but for a small country there is a wide variety of different environments to explore.

If you have any questions about travelling in Portugal or anything regarding Lisbon and Ericeira I’m more than happy to share my knowledge.

What happens after I make a booking?

Once you send a booking request, the host is notified that you are interested in their listing. From that moment, they have 24 hours to approve or reject your booking.

Can I go through the contract before I make a booking of the housing?

You can take a look at the contract in advance and online with every listing. After you sign it, you will find it in the application My Housing.

While arranging a contract on Flatio, you do not have to worry that it could be disadvantageous for you. Our contracts are made so that we avoid all problems! All of them are the same, used by all the hosts on Flatio.

Can I see my chosen accommodation in person before I sign the lease agreement?

Your time is precious. That's why we've added a virtual tour option to our platform so you can see some of the rentals listed on Flatio from the comfort of your own home.

If a virtual tour isn't available for the accommodation you've chosen, you can contact the host and ask them if they're willing to give you a personal tour of the rental unit.

In the event that you move in and the rented accommodation doesn't match the information on Flatio, let us know as soon as possible!

How can I cancel my booking?

How you can cancel a booking varies depending on what stage the booking is in.

Is your booking request still waiting for host approval? Then you can simply cancel it directly from your My Housing web app!

However, suppose the owner has already approved your booking request, and you are no longer interested in it. In that case, you can still cancel the booking before you sign the lease agreement. Just consider that you should do this only in essential cases. Because when the host accepts your booking, the living space is stopped being advertised, and they can lose the chance to rent their property to someone else.
